01

Introduction

UnoDock adds a modern bottom navigation bar to WordPress, bringing a familiar app-style navigation pattern to mobile websites.

Each bar can contain between 2 and 6 buttons, with full control over icons, labels, link actions, colors, backgrounds, active states, visibility and behaviour.

UnoDock follows the UnoizeStudio Mobile Always First philosophy: interaction should feel immediate, animations should never delay navigation, and frontend assets should only load where they are actually needed.

UnoDock works independently of your page content and is designed to work with WordPress themes, Gutenberg and page builders such as Elementor.

02

Installation

Free version

  • Install UnoDock – Mobile Bottom Navigation directly from the WordPress Plugin Directory.
  • Alternatively, upload the plugin folder to /wp-content/plugins/.
  • Activate UnoDock from Plugins → Installed Plugins.
  • Open UnoDock from the WordPress admin sidebar.

PRO version

UnoDock PRO is distributed as a separate standalone plugin.

Important: before installing UnoDock PRO, deactivate and delete the Free plugin. Free and PRO should not remain installed simultaneously.

05

Buttons

UnoDock supports between 2 and 6 buttons. Drag them to change their order and configure every action independently.

Icons

Choose from more than 1,400 icons across Font Awesome, WordPress Dashicons and Bootstrap Icons. The icon picker is searchable and all required icon assets are available locally — UnoDock does not depend on an external icon CDN.

Labels

Each button can show or hide its text label. Labels can be positioned above or below the icon and button text is kept intentionally compact for mobile navigation.

Link Types

The Buttons interface separates Link Type selection from its configuration options, making it easier to understand exactly what each button will do.

Manual URLLink to any internal or external destination.
Existing pageSelect an existing WordPress page directly.
Search boxOpen UnoDock's built-in mobile search interface.
WhatsAppOpen a WhatsApp conversation with an optional predefined message.
Call nowOpen the visitor's phone dialer using the configured number.
Open a popupTrigger a Popup Maker popup when the compatible plugin is active.

Icon background

Add an optional visual background behind the button icon, including solid color or gradient styles.

Active and inactive colors

Icon and text colors can be configured independently for active and inactive states, giving you more control over how the current destination is represented.

Tap animationPRO

Add Shrink or Zoom feedback when a button is tapped. Animations run alongside navigation and do not delay the action itself.

Commerce counters

Compatible navigation buttons can display live item counts:

  • WooCommerce Cart Item Count — displays the current cart quantity.
  • YITH Wishlist Item Count — displays the current wishlist quantity when YITH WooCommerce Wishlist is active.

WooCommerce Cart Item Count is enabled by default for newly created compatible buttons while preserving existing saved choices.

07

Appearance

Bar Style

UnoDock offers different navigation geometries while keeping your button configuration reusable between styles.

ClassicTraditional edge-to-edge bottom navigation.
Floating BarRounded navigation inset from the screen edges.
Dock BarSlim visual base with elevated icons and a clear active state.
Floating NotchPROCurved moving notch with an elevated active button.
Pulse NotchPROMoving notch with a continuously pulsing active indicator.

Bar background

  • Solid color
  • Gradient
  • Glass, with a blurred semi-transparent appearance

Colors

Configure active and inactive icon and text colors, plus active-state underline styling.

Dimensions

Adjust navigation height, icon size, text size and style-specific dimensions.

Top corner radius (PRO) only affects the Classic Bar Style. Other styles use their own shape and corner settings.

Floating Bar corner radius

Floating Bar has its own dedicated corner-radius control, independent from the Classic top corner radius.

Featured ButtonPRO

Make one important navigation action larger and visually elevated. Choose the button position and size, then configure its visual background.

Featured Button works with compatible Bar Styles, including Floating Notch. Pulse Notch does not use Featured Button; switching away restores the previously saved Featured Button configuration.

Menu iconsPRO

Add icons to individual WordPress menu items displayed by the Sliding Menu Panel without modifying the original WordPress menu itself.

08

Behavior

Visibility

Control where UnoDock appears across your website.

  • Show across the site

Automatic Dark Mode

UnoDock can automatically use its configured dark appearance when the visitor's device requests dark mode.

RTL Support

Enable right-to-left behavior when required by the site. RTL is disabled by default on new installations.

VibrationPRO

Add a short vibration response on compatible devices when users interact with UnoDock.

Support depends on the device and browser. Some platforms, including iPhone Safari, may not expose the Vibration API.
09

Fullscreen mode

The main Preview is separate from the static previews used inside the Templates Gallery.

System Status

System Status checks the environment UnoDock is running in, including:

  • WordPress 6.5 or newer
  • PHP 8.0 or newer
  • Recommended memory limit of at least 128 MB

System Status is informational only and does not create unsaved plugin changes when opened or closed.

Export configuration

Download your current UnoDock configuration as a JSON file for backups or migration to another website.

Import configuration

Load a previously exported UnoDock JSON configuration. Existing settings affected by the import are replaced by the imported configuration.

Repair Settings

Re-check saved configuration and normalize values that are no longer recognized by the currently installed UnoDock edition.

Delete settings on uninstall

Frequently Asked Questions

Does UnoDock work with any theme?

UnoDock renders independently from the page content and is designed to work with standard WordPress themes, Gutenberg and page builders such as Elementor.

Does UnoDock slow down my site?

UnoDock is built around conditional loading and immediate interaction. Frontend assets only load when the bar is enabled and configured to appear on the current page.

Does UnoDock use external CDN resources?

No. Required UnoDock icon and font assets are kept locally rather than being loaded from an external CDN.

Is WooCommerce required?

No. WooCommerce is only required for WooCommerce-specific features such as Product Search and Cart Item Count. UnoDock itself works without WooCommerce.

Is Easy Digital Downloads required?

No. EDD is only required if you want Product Search to target Easy Digital Downloads products.

Do I need Popup Maker?

Only if you want to use the Open a popup Link Type. The option is exposed when Popup Maker is available.

Can I use WhatsApp or Call Now?

Yes. Both are native UnoDock Link Types and use the configured phone number to open WhatsApp or the device dialer.

Will my Free settings disappear when I move to PRO?

Your existing UnoDock configuration is designed to be preserved. However, the Free and PRO plugins should not remain installed simultaneously.

How many buttons can I use?

UnoDock supports between 2 and 6 primary navigation buttons in both Free and PRO.

Troubleshooting

The bar isn't showing.

Confirm that Enable bar is active, then check the visibility options in Behavior. If using PRO audience or role restrictions, also verify the current visitor matches those rules.

A button doesn't open anything.

Check its Link Type and verify that all required options are configured. An Existing Page without a page, Manual URL without a destination or Popup Maker action without a popup cannot open a valid destination.

Product Search isn't finding products.

Check that the selected ecommerce provider is active and that the button is configured for Product Search. If the provider is unavailable, UnoDock falls back to normal WordPress search.

UnoDock overlaps another fixed element.

Review your positioning and Z-index settings in Behavior and confirm that the other fixed element is not using a higher stacking level.

Something looks wrong after an update.

Open Behavior → Maintenance. Start with Clear Cache. If a saved configuration value is no longer recognized, use Repair Settings.

A PRO feature isn't available.

Confirm that UnoDock PRO is active and that your PRO license is valid. Free and PRO should not be active together.
