Introduction

UnoDock adds a fixed navigation bar to the bottom of your site on mobile devices — the same familiar pattern used by the apps your visitors already use every day. 2 to 6 buttons, fully customizable: pick the icons, colors, links, and order, all without touching a line of code.

The bar only appears on mobile-sized screens by default, and its styles and scripts only load on pages where it's actually enabled — so there's no impact on desktop visitors or on pages where the bar is turned off.

Installation

• Upload the unodock folder to /wp-content/plugins/, or install directly from the WordPress Plugin Directory.
• Activate the plugin from the WordPress Plugins menu.
• Go to UnoDock in the admin sidebar to open the settings panel.
• Pick a ready-made template to get started quickly, or build your bar from scratch in the Buttons tab.

Getting Started

The UnoDock settings panel is organized into six tabs:

An Enable bar toggle at the top turns the whole navigation bar on or off. Click Save changes (header or floating button) whenever you make changes.

A light/dark toggle next to Enable bar switches the settings panel's own appearance — saved per admin user, so everyone with access can pick their own.

Templates

12 ready-made designs to jumpstart your setup:

• Aurora, Blaze, Onyx, Tide, Bloom, Slate, Sage, Frost — 8 designs available on every version, covering solid colors, gradients, and glassmorphism.
• Ocean, Sunset, Mint, MidnightPRO — 4 exclusive designs built around a featured, larger center button, with glassmorphism, WhatsApp, or Call now buttons built in.

Clicking Use this template replaces your current buttons and appearance settings — you'll be asked to confirm first.

Buttons

Drag the handle on the left to reorder buttons; the number next to each shows its position. Between 2 and 6 buttons — the same on every version.

Icon

Choose from three icon libraries — Font Awesome, Dashicons, and Bootstrap Icons — well over 1,400 icons in total, via the searchable icon picker. Switch libraries with the tabs at the top of the picker; the search box filters within whichever library is open. All icon fonts are bundled locally with the plugin, so there's never an external request.

Button text

Show text toggles the label on/off; Text position places it above or below the icon.

Link type

• Manual URL — any internal or external link.
• Existing page — pick a page from your site directly.
• Search box — opens a slide-up search box in the bar instead of navigating.
• WhatsApp — opens a chat with a pre-configured number, and an optional pre-filled message. The real WhatsApp icon is shown automatically.
• Call now — opens the phone dialer directly with a pre-configured number.
• Open a popup — instantly opens a Popup Maker popup instead of navigating. Only shown when the free Popup Maker plugin is active; pick which popup from a dropdown. Make sure the popup is set to load on the page(s) the button appears on (or set to preload everywhere) — otherwise there's nothing there for it to open.

Both WhatsApp and Call now numbers use a searchable country picker with flags — pick the country, then type just the local number. No more typing the country code by hand.

Click animation PRO

Adds a small tap animation: Shrink or Zoom. The animation plays alongside navigation, never before it — buttons with an animation open just as instantly as any other button.

Icon background

Adds a filled background circle behind the icon, in a solid color or gradient.

WooCommerce cart badge

Shows a live badge with the number of cart items, updating instantly with no page reload. Only visible when WooCommerce is active.

YITH Wishlist badge

Shows a live badge with the number of items in the visitor's wishlist, updating instantly with no page reload. Only visible when the YITH WooCommerce Wishlist plugin is active.

Appearance

Bar background

Solid color, gradient, or glassmorphism — a blurred, semi-transparent background with adjustable tint color, blur intensity, and an optional luminous top border. Available on every version.

Colors

Every color field uses a modern picker with two modes — a grid of preset shades for quick choices, and a full spectrum with a hue slider for precise ones — plus an opacity slider for transparent colors.

• Icon (inactive) — the default icon color.
• Text — label color, always the same regardless of active state.
• Active underline — on by default; animated underline for the current page's button.
• Active icon color — optional color the icon switches to when active.

Dimensions

Bar height, icon size, and text size via sliders. Top corner radiusPRO softens the bar's top corners.

Featured button PRO

Makes one button stand out with a larger icon — toggle on, pick which button number, and choose its size on a 5-step slider from subtle to bold.

Menu icons PRO

Add an icon next to each item of your Sliding Menu Panel — pick which menu in that tab first, then come here to assign an icon to any item you like from the searchable picker. Stored entirely inside UnoDock's own settings; it never touches the menu itself, so it's always safe regardless of your theme or other plugins.

Behavior

Visibility

• Sticky bar — stays visible while scrolling (default), or static.
• Safe area (iPhone) — avoids the "swipe to home" gesture area on notched iPhones.
• Vibrate on tapPRO — short vibration on tap. Doesn't work on iPhone (Apple restriction); on Android, depends on the device's own vibration setting.
• Expandable panelPRO — adds a drag handle to the bar (built into the featured button when one is set); swiping it up reveals a panel with up to 8 extra buttons, managed in the Buttons tab, with its own solid or gradient background.
• Hide for administrators — keeps the bar out of your way while managing the site.
• Show forPRO — everyone, only logged-in, or only logged-out visitors.
• Restrict by user rolePRO — independently of "Show for", limit the bar to logged-in users with specific WordPress roles — including custom roles added by WooCommerce or membership plugins.

• Everywhere, except specific pages — handy for checkout or landing pages

Z-index

Adjust if the bar conflicts with another fixed element, like a chat widget or cookie banner.

Sliding Menu Panel PRO

Turns one of your bar's buttons into a full WordPress menu, opened in a sliding side panel instead of navigating anywhere — a compact way to offer far more links than the bar itself has room for.

Menu button

Turn it on, pick which button number should trigger it, and choose which WordPress menu to display (managed as usual under Appearance → Menus — the panel always reflects your latest edits there, including nested sub-menus). Optionally highlight that button with its own background color for as long as the panel stays open.

Social icons

Up to 4 social links shown in a row at the bottom of the panel, each with its own recognizable icon.

Panel appearance

• Panel side — opens from the left or the right.
• Entrance effect — Slide, Fade, Zoom, Slide + Fade, or Flip.
• Panel height, background (solid or gradient), border (solid or gradient), text color, and an optional separator line between menu items.

Preview

An interactive, live simulation of your bar inside a phone frame. Click any button to simulate it as "active" and check your colors and underline before saving.

Maintenance

• Clear cache — clears old internal UnoDock data from previous versions. Your settings are always kept.
• Export config — downloads a JSON file with your current settings (appearance, buttons, secondary buttons). Use it as a backup, or to copy your setup to another site in seconds.
• Import config — loads settings from a previously exported JSON file, replacing your current setup. You'll be asked to confirm first, since this can't be undone.
• Repair settings — re-checks every button against the currently installed version and resets anything no longer recognized (an icon or link type left over from a different version, for example) back to a safe default. Useful after switching between plugin versions, or if a button ever stops working for no obvious reason. You'll be asked to confirm first, since this can't be undone.
• Delete all settings on uninstall — off by default, so your setup survives a reinstall.
